Cell Phone Phobia

The pace at which things are developing and technology is getting sophisticated is far slower than those at which youth around the globe is exploiting it. Take a simple example of cell phone.

People keep clinging to it just everywhere, let it be while driving (resulting in deadly accidents), while crossing roads, during prayers and just anywhere. It’s the same from kids to elderly people. In Pakistan the negative use of a cell phone is at its peak. From spreading crimes, immorality to just any sort of crime.

Parents provide it to their kids with the sole intention to know where he/she is keeping in view the worse security situation. But cell phone has become an obsession for the youngsters. They keep sticking to their cell phones 24/7, 365 days, completely indifferent towards what is going on in their surroundings.

This new disease of “CELL PHONE PHOBIA” is spreading like a forest fire and the target is YOUTH. They find more fun in texting and misusing their lil device rather than just any healthy activity. Its like a day night non-stop show, just get a number or start dialing random numbers and get into useless conversations.

This drift has made the young minds sick and is just rusting their capability to think constructively. Not only has the cell phone culture done this, but it has even increased the crime rate to an alarming level. A recent report from a lacal newspaper showed how youngsters established a gang of kidnappers where a major role was played by the misuse of cell phone.

I would put the blame on the companies for introducing unlimited packages with minimum call and messaging rate which provoke youth to exploit the opportunity. These things have played a vitol role in spreading immorality, accelerating crime rate, creating psychological instability and unnecessary anxiety among the immature minds.

Strict and timely measures have to be taken to minimize the level of damage that has already been done to our youth. A nation cannot meet the expense of letting the future to be doomed and observe it silently.

Cell phone phobia is on rise in all the developing countries. The westerns and the mobile manufacturing companies are deliberately making the people mobile addicted. All this is a plan to create and sustain the big mobile phone market in these countries. Well done capitalism....

It's not bad thing at all. In the initial stage it may appear as phobia but gradually it becomes a part of life.
